FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used to prevent the development of macular rupture in patients with vitreomacular traction syndrome (VMTS) in the presence of an existing macular rupture in the paired eye. Laser coagulates are applied in the macular area, some 200 mcm from the edge of the avascular zone, around the circumference with the center in the fovea. Following modes are used: a wavelength of 577 nm, a power of 50 mW, a pulse duration of 0.03–0.05 s, a coagulum diameter of 100 mcm. Distance between coagulates is 100 microns. Number of coagulates is from 10 to 12.
EFFECT: method provides stabilization of the most corrected visual acuity and retinal photosensitivity.
