FIELD: power cables.

SUBSTANCE: method for recovering crosslinking by-products from a power cable crosslinked electrical insulation system and to a corresponding power cable. The power cable contains at least one cable core containing a conductive core, a crosslinked electrically insulating layer and particles of a zeolite system placed in the cable core. The first zeolite has a SiO2/Al2O3 ratio greater than 5 and less than or equal to 20, and the maximum sphere diameter that can diffuse in at least one of the cell axes directions is greater than 5 angstroms. The second zeolite has a SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of at most 5 and a maximum sphere diameter that can diffuse in at least one of the cell axes directions of 3 to 5 angstroms. A method for extracting crosslinking by-products from a crosslinked electrically insulating layer of a power cable core includes manufacturing a power cable core containing particles of a zeolite system, heating the power cable core to a temperature that causes migration of crosslinking by-products from the crosslinked electrically insulating layer.

EFFECT: preventing the accumulation of a space charge in an insulating material.
