SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing respiratory diseases of the upper respiratory tract in children in the first year of life. Anthropometric indicators are measured in the examined woman in the gestation period up to 10 weeks, with the help of which the fat and muscle mass of the body is calculated, then the somatotype is determined. Then, in the third trimester of pregnancy, the degree of purity of the vagina is determined by the method of F.M. Heurlien, and also the level of leukocytes in the blood, the level of total protein and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) are determined. On the basis of the data obtained, the probability of developing respiratory diseases of the upper respiratory tract in children in the first year of life (VRRD) is calculated using a given formula.

EFFECT: method allows to perform effective implementation of therapeutic and preventive measures to prevent the development of respiratory diseases of the upper respiratory tract in children in the first year of life by forming among pregnant women in the third trimester of gestation a high-risk group for the development of respiratory diseases of the upper respiratory tract in their children by assessing sets of the most significant indicators.
