FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of manufacturing a drop-shaped edge of the closing valve of a complete removable jaw denture. The plastic material is applied to the edge of an individual spoon, the spoon is placed in the patient's oral cavity on the jaw, followed by indentation of the plastic material in the area of the vestibule of the oral cavity up to the transitional fold and in the area of the tubercles in the distal section. Then the patient performs active circular movements with the lip, reciprocating movements with the cheek, forming teardrop-shaped edges, covers the mouth with an individual spoon and moves the lower jaw to the right and left to form the tubercles of the upper jaw, then the patient pronounces the letters “A”, “U” with the spoon, and opens his mouth. Then the plaster model is removed from the individual spoon with drop-shaped edges and filled with a corrective mass to obtain an impression. The impression is covered with base wax, retreating 3–5 mm from the transitional fold, and the finished prosthesis is cast.
EFFECT: increased reliability of suction of the closing valve of an individual dental spoon and prosthesis to the prosthetic jaw bed due to more efficient creation of volumetric drop-shaped edges of the closing valve of an individual dental spoon and prosthesis.
