SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the creation and modernization of devices for determining the spatial coordinates of an aircraft (AC). The claimed method consists in the fact that with a certain periodicity, using the information contained in the information packages received from the interacting aircraft, the operability of the UNE of the aircraft being evaluated is monitored. If, based on the results of the next cycle of monitoring the operability of the UNE, a decision is made about its operability, then the values of the coordinates formed by the UNE are accepted as the final values of the coordinates of the assessed aircraft within the next cycle of monitoring the operability of the UNE. Otherwise, the final values of the coordinates of the estimated aircraft are determined using the information contained in the information packages received from the four nearest interacting aircraft.

EFFECT: expanded functionality for determining the spatial coordinates of the evaluated aircraft in the conditions of inoperability of the user navigation equipment (UNE).
