SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radio engineering and can be used in the creation and modernization of means for monitoring the operability of the navigation equipment of the consumer (NEC) of the satellite radio navigation system (SRNS) of an aircraft. In the claimed method, in order to form a decision on the inactivity of the SRNS NEC, along with the procedure for identifying the discrepancy between the distances between the two control points determined using the SRNS NEC on the one hand and the inertial navigation system (INS) on the other hand, at the control points of time ti and ti-1, during the flight of the aircraft, procedures are used to identify the discrepancy between the differences of relative changes in the coordinates of the aircraft along the axes of a given rectangular coordinate system OXYZ, measured by the SRNS NEC on the one hand and the INS on the other hand at the control points of time ti and ti-1.

EFFECT: increase in the probability of proper monitoring of the operability of the SRNS NEC.
