FIELD: measuring instruments.
SUBSTANCE: devices for determining the parameters of the vehicle and the speed of its movement in the traffic stream. The laser scanning system for determining vehicle parameters in a traffic stream includes vehicle detection and scanning modules installed above the roadway, as well as an information recording and processing device. At the same time, the vehicle detection module is a configuration of stationary laser length meters oriented in space in such a way that at least two measuring laser lines are formed, directed in different directions relative to the traffic lane, used to determine the location of the vehicle in the control zone. The vehicle scanning module is a configuration of at least two 2D laser scanners located above the roadway of the lane, so that when scanning the space they form a single measurement plane perpendicular to the direction of movement, when the vehicle crosses it, a set of points with two-dimensional coordinates X and Y is formed. At the same time, the information recording and processing device calculates Z coordinates according to the speed of the moving object and the time of each scan, a cloud of spatial points is formed, according to which the height, width and length of the vehicle are calculated and its three-dimensional image is built.
EFFECT: expansion of functionality, namely the determination of the exact parameters of the vehicle (length, width, height).
