SUBSTANCE: method for producing dry pet food includes obtaining raw meat, mincing raw meat, shaping the minced meat into bars or strips, passing the shaped meat through a steam cooker, cutting the meat into portioned pieces, and drying the portioned pieces. Moreover, the method includes mixing the minced meat and dry ingredient, which is less than 20% by weight, before forming the minced meat and dry ingredient into a bar or strips.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to provide a higher quality (level of freshness and palatability) of pet food, while maintaining the advantages and convenience of packaging, nutrient content and shelf life at a level that is provided by dry food.
