FIELD: smoking devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-producing apparatus and to a method for operation thereof. Aerosol-producing apparatus comprises a composite current collector for heating the aerosol-forming material for the purpose of producing an aerosol during use. The composite current collector includes a support part and a current-collecting part supported by the support part. Apparatus also comprises an induction element for inductive power transfer to the current-receiving part during use and an excitation apparatus for exciting the induction element by alternating current, providing inductive power transfer to the current-receiving part during use, thereby heating the aerosol-forming material by the composite receiver and producing an aerosol. The alternating current has a waveform containing a primary frequency component with a first frequency, and one or multiple additional frequency components each with a higher frequency than the first frequency.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of heating.
