FIELD: ore mining.

SUBSTANCE: dry magnetic separation of weakly magnetic ores, such as hematite, hydrohematite, martite, iron trace martite, quartzite (iron trace - martite), and others, which are deposits of natural and technogenic origin. The method of dry magnetic separation of weakly magnetic ores includes dry magnetic separation, which is carried out in at least two stages, with the magnetic field strength at each subsequent stage not less in magnitude than at the previous stage, while at least one of the steps has the magnetic field strength higher than at the other stage. Ore of size A is supplied to the input of dry magnetic separation, while the deviation from A does not exceed Δ, which is not more than 50% of A. The magnitude of the magnetic field B at the stages of dry magnetic separation is set depending on the size of the ore A , taking into account the deviation Δ, at the same time, the larger the ore A is fed, the greater the magnetic field intensity B is set at the dry magnetic separation stage. The number of stages is selected depending on the magnitude of the deviation Δ, in this case, than with a larger deviation Δ ore is supplied, the more stages of dry magnetic separation are performed. The difference in magnetic field strength B between the stages is set in the range of 0.1-0.45T.

EFFECT: increase in recoverability of a useful component from a wide range of weakly magnetic ores.
