SUBSTANCE: production of structural products for special purposes in additive techniques. The proposed method for obtaining a sized carbon fibre by applying a sizing consisting of resorcinol to a carbon fibre from a solution with mass concentrations of 0.12-0.72% in acetone, followed by a stepwise increase in temperature and simultaneous distillation of the solvent, and a polyetherimide-carbon fibre composition that contains 80 wt.% polymer matrix based on polyesterimide and 20 wt.% finished carbon fibre obtained by the proposed method.
EFFECT: improving the modulus of elasticity and tensile strength of the created polyesterimide-carbon fibre compositions due to the introduction of a sizing composition, which increases the wettability of the filler and increases the boundary interactions between the filler and the polyesterimide matrix.
