FIELD: carbon fibre materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing sized carbon fibres and to polymer composites intended as structural polymer materials in additive technologies. The proposed method involves applying a sizing component to carbon fibre, followed by drying, which is carried out at a temperature of 79-80 °C. The sizing agent is applied from a solution of an organic solvent - acetone. The content of the sizing component in the solution is 0.06-0.65 wt.%. Then the sized fibre is kept at 20 °C - 10 minutes and carry out a stepwise increase in temperature with distillation of the solvent according to the following regime: 35 °C - 15 min; 45 °C - 15 min; 55 °C - 10 min; 65 °C - 10 min. The resulting fibre contains the following components, wt.%: 4,4'sulphonyldiphenol (SDP) - 0.25÷3.0 and carbon fibre (CF) - 99.75÷97.0.
EFFECT: improved glass transition temperature of the created polymer composite based on polyetherimide filled with carbon fibre by introducing a sizing component that increases wettability of the filler and increases intermolecular interactions between the carbon fibre and the polyetherimide matrix.
