SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to production of a solid agglomerated product in the form of a briquette based on iron oxides for use as a charge material for an electric arc furnace. Briquette contains at least one fraction of a by-product of production, obtained at a steel plant and including a first part containing iron oxide FeO, and second part containing iron oxide Fe2O3, fraction of solid fuel containing carbon, at least one mineral binder for connection of at least one fraction of by-product of production and fraction of solid fuel, at least one organic binder for connection of at least one fraction of a by-product of production and a fraction of solid fuel. At least one organic binder is selected from polysaccharides, preferably from a group consisting of starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, lignin or a combination of two or more of them. Briquettes are produced by agglomeration or cold agglomeration by mechanical compaction under pressure.

EFFECT: invention allows to create agglomerated products based on iron oxides with improved mechanical characteristics, which can be easily moved, stored and transported, as well as reduced amount of wastes due to optimization of available resources.
