SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for surface and volumetric insulation of compacted layers of solid waste disposed at landfills. The material for insulating compacted layers of solid waste at a landfill is a dry sludge containing complex compounds of metal ions with calcium in the binder CaSO4 * ½ H2O formed after treating acidic mine water containing metal and sulphate ions with a calcium-containing reagent Ca(OH)2 until the pH of the medium is 12-13, then removed from water and dried at a temperature of 140± 10°C.

EFFECT: material for surface and volumetric year-round insulation of compacted layers of solid household waste at a landfill with increased insulating properties. The range of tools for isolating solid household waste is expanded.
