FIELD: reproducing multi-channel audio data.

SUBSTANCE: lower layer processor processes at least one channel or more channels of object-related audio data or multi-channel audio data belonging to the lower layer. The normal level is the listening level at the height of the listener's head from the listener's point of view, the normal level being above the lower level from the listener's point of view. The LFE/bass processor feeds the low frequency portions of one or more normal level channels to the subwoofer via the subwoofer output. The lower-level processor is configured to provide at least one signal belonging to one or more lower-level channels to said subwoofer output to reproduce one or more lower-level channels using said subwoofer. The frequencies of the frequency portion of one or more of the low-level channels are above 150 Hz to be high enough to allow localization of the sound generated by the subwoofer.
