SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysis of olefin polymerisation. Disclosed is a spherical support for olefin polymerisation catalysts containing a magnesium-containing compound having a structure represented by formula (1), where R₁ is C_1-8-alkyl; R₂ and R₃ each is independently selected from the group consisting of H, C_1-5-alkyl groups and C_1-5-alkyl groups substituted with 1–10 halogen atoms; R₄ is selected from a group consisting of C_1-10alkyl groups substituted with at least one halogen atom, and C_6-2o^_ aryl groups substituted with at least one halogen atom; R₅ is C_1-2-alkyl; X is selected from a group consisting of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine atoms; m has values from 0.1 to 1.9, n has values from 0.1 to 1.9, and m + n = 2; 0 < q < 0.2; 0 < a < 0.1; method of producing disclosed spherical carrier, an olefin polymerisation catalyst containing the disclosed spherical support, and a method for the polymerisation of olefins using the disclosed catalyst.

EFFECT: obtaining a support for an olefin polymerisation catalyst, having a small size and having a good reaction to hydrogen, wherein the catalyst obtained using said support has good morphology.
