SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for producing an identification document and identification document. The method for producing an identification document involves forming elements of a document consisting of a lamination package containing outer polymer layers and an inner polymer layer, wherein the outer polymer layers are made of a transparent material with an adhesive coating applied to the inner surface and are permanently connected to each other one at a time edge, and layers of paper backing made on a paper base with polymer fibres, with the owner’s personal data printed on it, a slot is made in the upper part of the inner polymer layer for the paper backing to pass through it, the paper backing is folded along the perforated fold line, the paper backing is inserted through a slot in the upper part of the inner polymer layer, the paper backing is positioned inside the lamination bag, after which the document assembled in this way is subjected to heat treatment under pressure to form a zone of inextricable connection of all polymer layers along the perimeter of the lamination bag. The identification document contains an interconnected package of document elements subjected to heat treatment under pressure, consisting of a lamination package containing outer polymer layers and an inner polymer layer, wherein the outer polymer layers are made of a transparent material with an adhesive coating applied to the inner surface and are permanently connected to each other along one edge, and layers of paper backing made on a paper base with polymer fibres, with the owner’s personal data applied to it, while in the upper part the inner polymer layer contains a slot into which a paper backing bent along a perforated fold line is inserted, while the perimeter of the lamination package contains a zone of continuous connection of all polymer layers. A group of inventions can be used in the production of credit, check or similar information identification cards, including identity cards and driver's licenses.
EFFECT: simplifying the production and assembly of a secure identification document, as well as increasing its durability and resistance to external influences.
