FIELD: medicine; neurology; restorative medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the rehabilitation of patients with brain and spinal cord injury. The method includes the use of a virtual environment with controls and sensory interaction with virtual objects of a patient integrated into the virtual environment by using at least a visual channel and tactile stimulation in the form of a pneumomechanical stimulating effect on the receptors of the lower extremities. A virtual object of sensory interaction with the patient is a walking path floating at a height, the segments of which have different widths and change randomly, and the pneumomechanical stimulating effect is exerted on the support receptors of the heel zone of the feet and the support receptors of the metatarsal zone of the feet in high-speed walking modes, with the reproduction of the cycle step of a person, while the speed of the optical flow created in the virtual environment is synchronized with the speed of stimulation of the support receptors of the feet.
EFFECT: method ensures the restoration of motor and cognitive functions using stimulation of foot support receptors in real locomotion modes synchronized with the virtual environment, gives a correct and powerful signal to the central nervous system, activates the motor centers of the spinal and higher organization and triggers neuroplastic processes even at the stage of bed immobilization due to the combination of techniques of the claimed invention.
