FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurology, neurosurgery, traumatology, rehabilitation medicine, intensive therapy and resuscitation. Virtual environment with control elements and touch interaction with virtual objects of the patient integrated into the virtual environment are used. Pneumomechanical stimulating effect is exerted on the support receptors of the calcaneal zone of the feet and the support receptors of the metatarsal zone of the feet in high-speed modes of walking with reproduction of a human step cycle. Pneumomechanical stimulating effect is also provided on muscles of calf area and muscles of thigh area with reproduction of human step cycle. Speed of the optical flow generated in the virtual environment is synchronized with the speed of stimulation of receptors and muscles of the lower extremities. Pneumomechanical stimulating effect is also provided on hand muscles responsible for palm compression and opening, at the same time speed of optical flow created in virtual environment is synchronized with speed of hand muscles stimulation and speed of patient interaction with objects of virtual environment. Virtual object for sensory interaction with the patient is represented by two walking and running paths soaring at height, different in colour and made on a bichromatic background. Speed of movement of said paths is varied according to the speed of stimulation of receptors and muscles of lower extremity zones.
EFFECT: method provides more effective recovery of impaired motor and cognitive functions in patients with severe brain damage.
