FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology, neurosurgery, intensive therapy and resuscitation, and can be used for effective recovery of motor and cognitive functions in rehabilitation of patients with severe brain injury and, as a result, low rehabilitation potential. Sensory interaction with a virtual object in a virtual environment is used, which is carried out by using at least a visual channel and tactile stimulation by means of pneumomechanical action on receptors of lower extremities. Virtual object of sensory interaction when using the visual channel is a walking path floating at a height in the form of two identical-width sinusoids of different colours on a bichromatic background divided into two halves along the horizon line. Pneumomechanical stimulating effect is exerted on support receptors of calcaneal zone of feet and support receptors of metatarsal zone of feet in high-speed modes of walking, with reproduction of a step cycle of a person, precisely synchronized in speed with the speed of wave-like movement of sinusoids, which is created in a virtual environment.
EFFECT: method provides creating an effective integrated method for early recovery of motor and cognitive disorders in patients with acute cerebral affection, using virtual reality.
