SYSTEM FOR RESTORATION OF QUADRIPEDAL ANIMALS AFTER SPINAL INJURIES Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61N1/36 A61D3/00 A61H3/04

Abstract RU 2805271 C2

FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: rehabilitation of animals after spinal cord injury. The system for restoring quadripedal animals after spinal injuries is a complex for neurostimulation of the spinal cord with activation of the motor functions of the animal’s limbs and maintaining the animal’s body weight with a movable structure, which is a wheelbase with adjustable spring stiffness. The system is designed to restore mobility and strength during movement of the animal's limbs and neurological functions damaged as a result of spinal cord injury. The complex contains a feedback controller for adjusting the intensity of the electrical signal of the invasive neurostimulator with electrodes and the load on the hind limbs, based on the current state of mobility and strength parameters of the animal’s limbs. The controller is controlled by software, as well as from mobile devices with control of the maximum permissible load on the limbs to stimulate the animal to the maximum possible independent movement.

EFFECT: restoration of mobility and strength of the limbs of a quadripedal animal after a spinal injury is ensured while maintaining the animal’s body weight during the rehabilitation process without the need to further use supporting and neurostimulating devices.
