FIELD: car retarders.

SUBSTANCE: car retarder refers to devices for regulating the speed of cars at marshalling yards. The car retarder contains two hydraulic cylinders connected through pipelines and a control device with the possibility of hydraulic fluid flowing from one hydraulic cylinder to another, a safety pipeline with a throttle is installed parallel to the control device, and both hydraulic cylinders are equipped with sensors connected to an automatic control system for pipeline fittings and an alarm system and operator's console, both hydraulic cylinders are mounted on the rail in series using one common or two independent supports at a distance that prevents simultaneous contact of the pistons with the wheels of the car. The shock-absorbing damping composition ADC is used as a hydraulic fluid, and adjustable pipeline fittings are used as a control device.

EFFECT: simplifying the design of the car retarder, providing the ability to smoothly adjust the braking force and reduce the volume of hydraulic fluid used in the device for adjusting the speed of cars.
