SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine the severity of compression and dislocation of the cerebral pons by an extracerebral tumor. An MRI of the brain is performed with contrast. On sections made in the axial plane at the level of the 4th ventricle, a line is drawn from the middle of the clivus to the internal occipital protuberance. If the tumor touches the bridge, but does not change its natural anatomical shape, then grade 1 is determined, i.e. mild compression of the bridge. If the tumor compresses the bridge but does not displace it, then grade 2 is determined, i.e. moderate compression of the bridge. If the tumor compresses and displaces the bridge, but does not displace it beyond the line drawn from the middle of the slope to the internal occipital protrusion, then grade 3 is determined, i.e. pronounced compression of the bridge. If the tumor compresses the bridge and displaces it beyond the line drawn from the middle of the slope to the internal occipital protrusion, then grade 4 is determined, i.e. gross compression of the bridge.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to classify the compression and dislocation of the stem structures (bridge) due to the stated characteristics of the degrees of compression and dislocation of the bridge of the head structures.
