FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for converting CO2 and/or its related form into one or more low-molecular organic compounds, including exposing CO2 and/or its related form to a beta-particle-activated wide-gap semiconductor, thereby converting CO2 and/or its related form into one or more low molecular weight organic compounds. The invention also relates to a system for converting CO2 and/or its related form into one or more low molecular weight organic compounds using the described method, as well as the use of a radiocatalytic material containing a wide bandgap semiconductor coupled to a beta particle emitting radionuclide to produce one or lower molecular weight organic compounds from CO2 and/or its related form.
EFFECT: use of the present invention makes it possible to convert carbon dioxide into high-energy compounds that can be used to generate energy.
