FIELD: medicine; obstetrics; gynecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict premature birth in women with isthmic-cervical insufficiency (ICI). Before transvaginal suturing of the cervix, the concentration of FABP4 protein is determined in the peripheral venous blood of pregnant women at 13–22 weeks of gestation using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. When its value ranges from 8.7 to 25.57 ng/ml in the case of transvaginal suturing of the cervix, timely birth is predicted. If the value is less than 8.7 ng/ml or more than 25.57 ng/ml, preterm birth is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides the ability to predict premature birth in women with ICI in the case of transvaginal suturing of the cervix in the gestation period from 13 to 22 weeks due to the preliminary determination of the concentration of FABP4 protein in peripheral venous blood.
