SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding and surfacing of metals using plasma through the simultaneous action of a compressed arc and an arc from a consumable electrode. The claimed method of plasma welding of metals with a consumable electrode includes welding using a plasma torch comprising an annular non-consumable electrode for forming a compressed arc between this electrode and the product, a current-carrying tip installed inside the annular non-consumable electrode and made with an axial hole in which a consumable electrode is movable electrode, whereas the welding process using a plasma torch includes exciting a compressed arc between an annular non-consumable electrode and the product, supplying a consumable electrode to the welding zone and exciting the arc between this electrode and the product. Initially, the arc of the consumable electrode is excited between it and the product by activating the first power source and moving the consumable electrode forward to the product and touching the product with it, then the second power source is activated, after which a compressed arc is excited between the annular non-consumable electrode and the product, then during the welding process moving the consumable electrode by dynamically feeding it and supplying a pulsed current to the consumable electrode and at the same time acting with a constant axial magnetic field on the excited arc between the consumable electrode and the product and on the compressed arc between the annular non-consumable electrode and the product.

EFFECT: improved stability of the welding bead formation process and improved quality of the weld metal.
