FIELD: transplantation.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to use of a pharmaceutical composition in prevention and/or treatment of organ or cell transplant rejection in a human transplant recipient. The use of a pharmaceutical composition comprising or consisting of: leukocytes and/or peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) treated with a therapeutically effective amount of an active substance, in prevention and/or treatment of organ or cell transplant rejection in a human transplant recipient, wherein said leukocytes or the PBMC are isolated from or originate from a transplant donor, wherein the prevention and/or treatment of organ or cell transplant rejection comprises administering to the recipient a pharmaceutical composition, wherein the amount of the pharmaceutical composition is selected to administer from 1×108 up to 1×1012 treated leukocytes or treated PBMCs per 1 kg of recipient body weight, and the cells are administered to the recipient 5-28 days prior to transplantation. The active agent comprises or is mitomycin C. Use of a pharmaceutical composition comprising or consisting of: leukocytes or peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) treated with a therapeutically effective amount of the active agent, wherein the active substance is or includes mitomycin C, in prevention or treatment of organ or cellular transplant rejection in a transplant recipient who is a human, wherein said white blood cells or PBMC are isolated from or originate from a transplant donor, and the composition is characterized in that the total number of treated leukocytes or treated PBMCs in the pharmaceutical composition is between 1×108 up to 1×1012, moreover, the cells are administered to the recipient 5-28 days before transplantation.
EFFECT: above-described use in humans provides an increase in the number of Breg CD19+CD24highCD38high, which increases the effectiveness of transplantation therapy, provides effective prevention and/or treatment of organ or cell transplant rejection in humans.
