SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in airborne radar stations (ARS) to form a radar image (RI) of the Earth's surface. The method is based on the formation of a sequence of coherent chirp pulse signals with the same frequency deviation, by changing the average frequency of each chirp pulse signal of the sequence according to a random law, coherent radiation of the generated chirp pulse signal sequence in the direction of the earth's surface during a radar survey of the earth's surface, receiving reflected pulses signals. After receiving chirp pulse signals, their analogue-to-digital conversion is carried out with a frequency FD≥2Δƒ, whereΔƒ is the frequency deviation of the chirp pulse signal, and the received pulse signals are coherently accumulated. After the accumulation of chirp pulse signals in digital form is completed, their compression and coordinated processing are sequentially carried out and the amplitudes of the radar image are formed by detecting the chirp-processed pulse signals.

EFFECT: expanding the dynamic range of the generated radar image by reducing the level of side components of the compressed chirp pulse signal.
