SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a sulfur-containing amino acid or a derivative of a sulfur-containing amino acid. The method includes cultivating a genetically modified microorganism in a culture medium containing thiosulfate, where the microorganism contains a genetic modification to increase the activity of the protein encoded by the ssuABC gene, compared to an unmodified microorganism, where the sulfur-containing amino acid or sulfur-containing amino acid derivative includes at least one (one) selected (o) from the group consisting of methionine, cysteine, cystine, lanthionine, homocysteine, homocystine, homolanthionine and taurine.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a sulfur-containing amino acid or a derivative of a sulfur-containing amino acid with a high degree of efficiency.
