FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of producing a sulphur-containing amino acid or a sulphur-containing amino acid derivative, involving culturing a genetically modified microorganism in a culture medium containing thiosulphate. Said microorganism includes a genetic modification to increase activity of a protein having thiosulphate reductase activity encoded by the ssuD gene as compared to an unmodified microorganism. Also disclosed is a composition for producing sulphur-containing amino acid or sulphur-containing amino acid derivative, containing thiosulphate and said microorganism or its culture.
EFFECT: invention can be effectively used in production of sulphur-containing amino acid or sulphur-containing amino acid derivative.
