FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing a composite material based on tungsten carbide, which can be used as a wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant coating applied by the gas-flame method. In a mixer-granulator, tungsten carbide, cobalt and chromium powders with equal particle sizes of no more than 1 micron are mixed using polyvinyl alcohol for more than 24 hours to obtain a suspension. The suspension is spray dried to produce spherical agglomerated particles, which are then heated to a temperature of 1290±10°C. The heated powder is subjected to vibration with an amplitude of no more than 1 mm until the powder cools to a temperature below 700°C, classification is carried out to isolate powder with a particle size of 20-45 microns.
EFFECT: it is ensured that a powder composite material based on tungsten carbide is obtained with a uniformly applied coating throughout the entire volume of the particle, a uniform granulometric composition of the composite powder and the integrity of the coating obtained from it.
