FIELD: pipelines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a flow reversing device for use in a pipeline, comprising a chamber having a set of two or more successive rings mounted on a shaft extending axially through the chamber, the rings being spaced apart, each ring comprising a peripheral circle and one or more S-shaped elements extending from one point on the peripheral circle to another point on the peripheral circle and through the centre of the ring. Moreover, two or more successive rings are installed along the shaft in a twisted configuration such that the S-shaped element of at least one ring in the device is in a position facing forward, and the S-shaped element of at least one ring in the device is in a position facing the opposite direction. The invention also relates to a system for treating liquid solutions or emulsions, a method for producing a mixed solution of liquids or one or more liquids with one or more solids, a method for converting laminar flow to turbulent flow, a method for breaking a water-oil emulsion, and a method for reducing the viscosity of an oil-containing emulsion.
EFFECT: effective conversion of liquid flow from laminar to turbulent flow.
