SUBSTANCE: detecting a magnetic marker involves the excitation unit generating a magnetic excitation field including a first excitation component at a first frequency and a second excitation component at a second frequency, and detecting by a magnetic field sensor a response magnetic field comprising a first response component at a first frequency and a second response component at a second frequency. The magnetic marker is configured to respond nonlinearly to the excitation signal. A primary portion of the first response component and a primary portion of the second response component are generated by the magnetic marker in response to the magnetic excitation field, and a secondary portion of the first response component and a secondary portion of the second response component are generated by the at least one secondary magnetic source in response to the magnetic excitation field.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to increase the efficiency of magnetic marker detection.
