SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of production of (E)-3-aryl-N-(hydroxymethyl)-2-cyanothioacrylamides of formula 1
Optimization of the method of obtaining (E)-3-aryl-N-(hydroxymethyl)-2-cyanothioacrylamides 1 by increasing the yield is achieved by carrying out the synthesis in 37% formaldehyde in the absence of other solvents in the presence of 10 mol.% acetic acid as a catalyst.
EFFECT: following is developed: a new method of the preparation of (E)-3-aryl-N-(hydroxymethyl)-2-cyanothioacrylamides 1 — promising thioamidoalkylating agents of interest as potentially biologically active compounds.
