FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process of obtaining of 6-amino-4-aryl-2-thioxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitriles of general formula 1, where R is an unsubstituted or substituted aromatic or heterocyclic substituent. The method is based on the interaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and cyanothioacetamide as starting compounds in a solvent medium using organic bases as catalysts. The method is characterized by the following: cyanothioacetamide is reacted with a twofold excess of aldehydes corresponding to the formula RCHO, where R is an unsubstituted or substituted aromatic or heterocyclic substituent, and a twofold excess of malononitrile in boiling ethanol in the presence of an organic base — triethylamine, morpholine, and N-methylmorpholine within 3–5 hours.
EFFECT: proposed method allows to increase the yield of target products.
