FIELD: medicine; pulmonology; infectious diseases; intensive care.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to treat respiratory failure with signs of hypoxemia and hypercapnia. A method of treating hypoxemic and hypercapnic respiratory failure consists in first inhaling a thermal mixture of helium and oxygen, consisting of a helium concentration of 50 to 79 vol.% and oxygen from 21 to 50 vol.%, at a temperature ranging from 55 to 75°C, and then inhalation with an aerosol of water vapor with chemically active atomic hydrogen, the concentration of the latter in the mixture being from 0.1 vol.% to 0.3 vol.%, and in combination with inhalations, NIV is carried out in the BiPAP ST mode, and inhalations are given through the adapter directly into the circuit of the NIV device for 30 minutes 3 times a day in the morning, lunchtime and in the evening for 10–14 days.
EFFECT: increase in the effectiveness of the method of treating respiratory failure (hypoxemia, hypercapnia) in patients with lung diseases is achieved by achieving positive dynamics in the form of reducing the manifestations of hypoxemia, hypercapnia, increasing exercise tolerance and reducing vascular endothelial dysfunction.
