A METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF RESPIRATORY FAILURE (HYPOXEMIA) IN PATIENTS WHO HAVE HAD AN INFECTION WITH THE SARS-CoV-2 VIRUS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61M16/12 A61K8/22 A61P11/00

Abstract RU 2784998 C1

FIELD: medicine, pulmonology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pulmonology, and can be used for the treatment of respiratory failure in persons who have had a SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus 2). The method consists in that the COVID-19 treatment protocol includes inhalation with a thermal mixture of helium and oxygen, consisting of a helium concentration of 50 to 79 vol. % and oxygen from 21 to 50 vol. %, at a temperature ranging from 55 to 75°С for up to 30 minutes per day. Additionally, nitric oxide is inhaled through the nasal cannula at a dose of 75-80 ppm for 90 minutes a day, and then an aerosol mixture of water is inhaled through the nasal cannula for 90 minutes a day. steam with reactive atomic hydrogen, the concentration of the latter in the mixture is from 0.1 vol. % up to 0.3 vol. %. All inhalations are carried out for at least 10-14 days.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to effectively combat ischemia of the internal organs and tissues of the human body due to the fact that inhalation with a thermal mixture of helium and oxygen improves oxygen transport to tissues, improves ventilation and perfusion (V/Q) compliance and reduces the shunt fraction, nitric oxide reduces endothelial dysfunction, improves ventilation-perfusion (V/Q) compliance and reduces the shunt fraction, aerosol with atomic hydrogen reduces the manifestations of hypoxemia, increases exercise tolerance, reduces endothelial dysfunction.
