FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: brachytherapy implant contains the following: a hollow biocompatible wire; at least one tubular grain defining an internal channel mounted externally on a hollow biocompatible wire; and radioactive particles for radiotherapy treatment placed on at least one tubular grain. A method of introducing radioactive grain into body tissue, in which a needle is inserted into the body tissue through a first point until the tip of the needle comes out of the tissue at a second point; pushing the distal end of a thread carrying one or more radioactive grains out of the distal tip of the needle; grasp the distal end of the thread; pulling the distal end of the thread to adjust the position of one or more radioactive grains in the tissue; and withdrawing the needle proximally from the tissue while grasping the distal end of the thread so that one or more radioactive beads remain in the tissue.
EFFECT: use of this group of inventions will protect healthy tissues from undesirable radiation.
