SUBSTANCE: radioactive seed applicator includes the following components: a non-metallic elongate tube configured to be inserted into tissue; a sleeve at the proximal end of the tube; one or more radioactive beads carrying radioactive particles within the tube and a stylet configured to insert into the tube and push the one or more radioactive beads toward a distal end of the non-metallic extension tube when the non-metallic extension tube is in the tissue.
EFFECT: use of this invention will protect healthy tissues from undesirable radiation.
