FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the fibre optic means for measuring an inhomogeneous complex volumetric dynamic stress state, and can be used for diagnosing the stress state and flaw detection of composites, in biomedical research, hydroacoustics, aerodynamics, security systems for remote pressure monitoring. The fibre optic volumetric stress state sensor contains an extended cylindrical frame with six measuring elements located inside the frame. Each measuring element includes a fibre optic light guide, an electroluminescent element, two continuous control electrodes and a piezoelectric element. The piezoelements of all measuring elements are combined into one piezoelectric layer. The electroluminescent element is made in the form of electroluminescent particles embedded in a fibre optic light guide to form an electroluminescent optical fibre.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining all six independent components of the stress tensor for a volumetric complex stress state and the location of inhomogeneities in the stress state along the length of the sensor.
