FIELD: petrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is claimed for producing a catalyst for the oligomerization of propylene by reacting a nickel(II) complex compound in an organic solvent with continuous supply of propylene into a reactor with an organoaluminum compound - diisobutylaluminum chloride, characterized in that nickel(II) complexes with oxadithioethers are used as the nickel(II) compound ligands of the general formula [Ni(L)Br2], where L=R(S(CH2)2O(CH2)2S)R, R = methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, iso-propyl, n-butyl, iso-butyl, n-hexyl or [Ni(acac)(L')]CF3SO3, where acac is acetylacetonate; L'=R'(S(CH2)2O(CH2)2S)R', R' = methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, iso-propyl, n-butyl, iso-butyl, used as a solvent 1,2-dichloroethane, reaction time in the range of 1-2 hours and the process is carried out in the temperature range from 15 to 35°C, preferably 20-25°C, with a continuous supply of propylene into the reactor at a pressure of 1-1.2 bar.
EFFECT: production of a catalyst characterized by the conversion of propylene into products up to 366,000 molpropylene/mol Ni.
