FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing isopropyl alcohol, which is used in the chemical, oil, woodworking, perfume and pharmaceutical industries, mainly as a solvent and raw material for the production of ketones, ethers, amines, as well as ecological autochemical products. The proposed method consists of catalytic liquid-phase hydrogenation of acetone at a temperature of 60-140°C, pressure 2.0-5.0 MPa, weight rate 0.8-1.2 g acetone/(g catalyst h) and molar ratio hydrogen:acetone from 1.5:1 to 1.2:1. In this case, an aluminum-nickel catalyst is used containing nickel in an amount of 13-30 wt.% on gamma aluminum oxide with a pore volume of 0.4-0.9 cm3/g. This catalyst is prepared by depositing Ni on gamma -aluminum oxide from a melt of Ni(NO3)2·6H2O, followed by heat treatment at a temperature of 200-500°C and reductive activation.
EFFECT: more efficient conversion of acetone.
