FIELD: forest chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for producing oxidized wood products selected from softwood, hardwood and lignin, or a mixture thereof, comprising step a) of reacting chip particles of one or more wood products, wherein the chip particles have an average diameter of from 0.1 to 10 cm, in a basic solution at a pH of from 12 to 14, the molarity of the basic solution being from 3 to 5 M, in an oxygen atmosphere using substantially pure oxygen, under a pressure of from 0.5 to 10 MPa, and the temperature ranges from 70 to 110°C, and no metal-based catalyst is used.
EFFECT: improved method for the oxidation of wood and lignin, occurring at temperatures less than 160°C, in the absence of an expensive catalyst and non-environmental solvent.
