FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: use in the field of electric power industry for control of operation modes of power transmission lines by means of transverse power compensation devices. Method of controlling operation modes of power transmission line is carried out by means of static power compensator, built on the basis of AC voltage regulator and reactive element, with connection of series connection of output clamps of AC voltage regulator and reactive element to one of phases of power transmission line. Method provides setting of power transmission line operation mode, synchronous measurement of currents and voltages of power transmission line, calculating current operating mode of power transmission line phase, calculating and generating control actions on static power compensator. At that, simultaneous control of operating modes in all phases of power transmission line is carried out by generating voltage on output terminals of AC voltage controller using linear voltage of other phases of power transmission line, and control action on static power compensator is calculated proceeding from current parameters of mode of all phases of power transmission line.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the static power compensator, which enables to generate in accordance with the specified requirements both reactive and active power in phases of the static power compensator and, accordingly, perform simultaneous more flexible control of power transmission line phases operation modes.
