FIELD: nuclear reactor.
SUBSTANCE: relates to an alkali metal reactor power source used to produce electrical energy using nuclear reactors. The source contains a reactor body (1), in the lower part of which there is liquid alkali metal (2); the reactor core (4), which is located in the reactor vessel (1), a plurality of fuel rods (3), and a radial reflective layer (11) located on the periphery of the plurality of fuel rods (3). On the surface of each fuel rod (3) there is a first liquid-absorbing zone (5), in the lower part of the reactor core (4) there are second liquid-absorbing zones (19) connected to the first liquid-absorbing zones (5), the second liquid-absorbing zones (19) may be in contact with liquid alkali metal (2). The source also contains alkali metal thermoelectric converters (7), located along the circumferential direction of the radial reflective layer (11) and dividing the internal space of the reactor vessel (1) into a high-pressure steam chamber (6), located above the alkali metal thermoelectric converters (7), and a steam chamber (8) of low pressure, located below the alkali metal thermoelectric converters (7).
EFFECT: simplicity of design, flexibility of configuration and high efficiency of the electrical energy generator due to the transfer of heat of the phase transition of the alkali metal using liquid-absorbing zones.
