FIELD: anesthesiology and resuscitation.
SUBSTANCE: used to predict the risk of developing septic shock. DNA is isolated from peripheral venous blood and variants of the angiotensin II receptor AGTR1 gene are determined. If a patient has a TT variant of the AGTR1 gene (rs275651), the quantitative content of the peptide hormone angiotensin II in the blood plasma is determined. When the content of the peptide hormone angiotensin II is less than 200 pg/ml, the risk of developing septic shock is predicted.
EFFECT: early determination of whether a particular patient belongs to a risk group for the development of septic shock and the advisability of using angiotensin II preparations only for those patients whose predisposition to the development of shock is due to insufficient levels of the vasopressor hormone angiotensin II and the presence of the genetic variant TT rs275651 of its receptor - AGTR1.
