FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a nicotine-based composition for generating an aerosol and its use. The following is proposed: a composition for generating an aerosol containing a gelling agent in the range of 2.5–7% by weight, wherein the gelling agent forms a solid medium and includes one or more of the following components: low-acylated gellan, high-acylated gellan, xanthan gum, alginate, agar and guar gum; glycerin dispersed in a solid medium; nicotine dispersed in glycerin; levulinic acid; and calcium ions. Use of the composition as a composition heated by an aerosol generating device to vaporize nicotine.

EFFECT: above-described composition containing nicotine is stable and does not release a liquid phase.
