FIELD: road infrastructure monitoring.
SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the monitoring the condition of road infrastructure in winter. According to one aspect of the present invention, a method for monitoring the condition of winter roads is proposed, according to which: images of surrounding road infrastructure are obtained by means of at least one camera configured to be mounted on a vehicle; objects of the surrounding road infrastructure are detected in the resulting images using a road infrastructure object detection unit implemented on two neural networks: a detector and a classifier; the result of detecting objects of the surrounding road infrastructure is entered into the database; using the lidar, a point cloud associated with the state of the roadway is obtained; based on the obtained point cloud, road surface defects are detected using a road surface defect detection unit; the result of detecting road defects is entered into the database; coordinate data are received from the coordinate receiver of the global satellite navigation system; the result of detecting objects of the surrounding road infrastructure is compared with its corresponding coordinate and the result of detecting defects in the roadway is compared with its corresponding coordinate; an event is generated by combining the result and the coordinates corresponding to this result with a timestamp. According to yet another aspect of the present invention, a winter road condition monitoring system is provided.
EFFECT: obtaining the information about the condition of the roadway, as well as about road infrastructure objects for monitoring roads in the winter season in various weather conditions.
