FIELD: road safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of computer technology for registering objects in or near the highway. The device for registering objects in the area of the highway or near it contains: a navigation unit; a fixation unit containing a stereo camera; a fixation time determination unit made with the ability to determine the time at which the frames were received, based on time data from the navigation unit; a recognition unit; and a geo-positioning unit of the fixed object containing a key point detection unit, made with the possibility of detecting identical elements on several frames that are clearly distinguishable on different frames, while key points are detected within the detected area of the object in the frame.
EFFECT: increase in road safety by increasing the probability of detecting violations.
