SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used in preparation of popcorn. A popcorn making apparatus having a housing includes a popcorn making chamber, a kettle, at least one inlet provided in an upper wall of the chamber configured to receive effluent from the kettle when making popcorn, and a recirculation passage. The recirculation channel is configured to receive an outgoing flow from the at least one inlet. There is a filter in the recirculation channel. The blower includes a housing in fluid communication with the recirculation channel. The blower is equipped with a housing outlet configured to direct the filtered outgoing flow into the popcorn cooking chamber through the top wall downwards parallel to one of the side walls. A method for operating the popcorn making apparatus is also provided.
